New Moon in Capricorn (Eclipse Season Preview!) – Anne Oatley Astrology

Dear friends,
I hope you are staying safe and well during these turbulent times. I just wanted to let you know that I’m hosting a webinar tonight in preparation for the new moon this weekend.
The New Moon in Capricorn is scheduled to occur on Sunday, January 18 at 2:25 pm EST. It is characterized by a tight four-planet cluster in Capricorn – the Sun and Moon meet at 28 degrees Capricorn, and Mercury and Mars both meet at 26 degrees Capricorn. When the chart is projected onto Washington, D.C. (the chart that governs the entire United States because our nation’s capital is there), we find all four planets in the eighth house of secrets, as well as Venus, Pluto, Vesta, and Pallas Athena in Aquarius.
There’s something roiling beneath the surface. Karmic debt is about to mature. We are called to take responsibility for past mistakes – both collectively and individually – and to stand up for the common good. Open the windows of your mind and breathe fresh air: If you were an alien who had just landed on this planet, encountering everything you saw for the first time, what would seem strange and incoherent? This is an invitation for you to address the issue to balance the imbalance.
As Venus, Pluto, and Carl Jung were all fond of saying: “Where love reigns, there is no will to power; where power reigns, there is a lack of love. One is a shadow of the other.”
Mars, the god of action, continues to move through his favorite sign. In Capricorn he is responsible, purposeful, determined, and efficient—and he provides strong support to his neighbor Mercury, who rules the New Moon chart in Washington, D.C. If you’re dealing with someone who is chronically indecisive, now is a good time to curb them. (That includes yourself!) The lies and duplicity are now exposed.
This new moon continues the trend of our new moons appearing late in their respective signs, which we have experienced every month since last September. We are ending a major karmic cycle: this is our chance to get it right!
Expect more upheaval: Sunday actually marks the unofficial start of eclipse season, as Pallas Athena is currently on track for the next new moon lunar eclipse in February. Listen carefully to the guidance of the Goddess of Wisdom. She points out where you need to make room for your next project. Take care of things now when they are “not urgent” so you don’t have to face the urgent version later.
If you would like to learn more about the nature of this weekend’s new moon and how it may land in your chart and life, I invite you to join me online on Friday, January 16 at 7:30 pm ET.
Big hugs, Annie
