The strongest version of ourselves

The Sun in Scorpio is like the intrepid investigative team from The X-Files, investigating the truth with the help of giant flashlights. With Saturn still retrograde until next week, much of the investigation has to do with goblins from the past that still haunt us.
We may find these demons in the world around us, or more likely, within ourselves. They show up when we act dishonestly on our deepest values; when we take convenient shortcuts; when shame causes us to eliminate some accuracy from the facts. These are mistakes that weaken us.
Saturn’s purpose is for us to become our strongest selves. Every time we are willing to face something that embarrasses or scares us—a pit full of spiders, snakes, having a vulnerable conversation with someone close to us—we become a little stronger.

In an exciting week, Mercury and Pluto sextile, extraordinary performance (November 17, 2025, 12:36 p.m. Pacific Time) Opposite Uranus (November 19, 2025 at 3:45 a.m. PST), Trine Neptune (November 19, 2025 at 4:21 a.m. PST), trine saturn (November 22 at 10:45 a.m. PST), and Trine Jupiter (November 22, 3:37 p.m. PST). It is also conjunct the Sun, but we will discuss that separately.
These are the links in the planetary chain that connect Mercury to the same aspects in the last week of October and the first week of December. Mercury, the planet of communication, perception, and connection, revisits Pluto for power, control, and intense focus; Uranus commands us to change our minds and see things from a different perspective; Neptune for healing, intuition, and compassion; Jupiter desires to reach for the stars; and Saturn is willing to build a platform for success.
There are other Mercury developments later this week. But know that in these days, as Mercury revisits many past aspects, Retrograde to Scorpio (November 18, 2025, 7:21 PM PST), it’s best to slow down, look within, see if we can connect the dots to the recent past, and prepare for what the first week of December will bring.
To reap the benefits, we must change
This week’s New Moon occurs at 28°11′ Scorpio (November 19, 2025 at 10:47 PM PST) Join Mercury in a Grand Trine to Jupiter and Saturn. This means they trine Jupiter, they trine Saturn, and Jupiter and Saturn trine each other. It’s a big, happy configuration of easy flow, which can be advantageous, but can also lead to inertia and complacency if we’re not careful.
Fortunately, the new moon also opposes Uranus. Uranus is in opposition to Uranus in the middle of the Grand Trine, which will bring some much-needed motivation to make the most of all the energy that’s flowing. The world opened up and got bigger. We draw on our inherent authority. Our Scorpio power is unleashed. But there’s a caveat: To reap these benefits, we must first be willing to change.

Mercury conjunct the Sun When this powerful conjunction occurs this week (November 20, 2025 at 1:23 a.m. Pacific Time, 28°18′ Scorpio), it is in a state called Kazimierzmeaning “at the center of the sun.”
When a planet is that close to the sun, it’s like one has the opportunity to be with famous people and bask in their reflected light. They get more attention. Maybe they get benefits or get into a restaurant, concert or club with a celebrity.
when mercury is Kazimierz (Between November 19, 10:31 a.m. PST and November 20, 4:15 a.m. PST), this is a great energy time for an important conversation, writing, or communication, and maybe make that difficult phone call you’ve been needing to make. You will tend to think clearly and well. You may find some gift bags left behind by celebrities.
How does it feel?
This week brings the second one Sextile between Uranus and Neptune (November 20, 2025, 6:33 AM PST, 29°29′ Taurus-Pisces), the latest in a series that will unfold in 2027.
The sextile is the first major aspect between Uranus and Neptune since their conjunction in Capricorn in 1993. The first sextile occurred on August 28 of this year, in the squirming, impatient signs of Gemini and Aries. This time, Taurus and Pisces are at the extreme end, with a somewhat different tone.
Sextiles often stimulate the imagination, making breakthroughs possible, making abstract or spiritual concepts easier to translate into language, and opening up fertile territory for revolutionary thinking. However, although this is still prevalent in recent sextiles, Taurus and Pisces are a little quieter than Gemini and Aries. This sextile is an opportunity for us to take another look at some of the fast-paced technological changes, such as artificial intelligence, which has been making headlines this year.
Things are moving very, very fast, and this sextile may just be a moment to put the brakes on and think about not only what’s going on on an intellectual level, but how it affects us on an emotional level. Before and after the date of this transit, keep an eye on the news and pay attention to the conversations around you. How do we think about technological progress and, more importantly, how do we Feel about it?

In particular, we are urged to examine the ways in which we are stuck in habits and insecurities and to try new ways of living.
Opposites often come into play in relationships, and we take turns playing the role of both planets. Stuck in a pattern of resentment, jealousy, or possessiveness (the dark side of Scorpio)? Once, while visiting New Zealand, I walked out of my house on a cool, clear night and looked up at the sky. What I saw made me a little dizzy: not just a thick layer of stars, but also constellations that were completely different from the ones I was used to! As a city dweller, I had no idea I was so familiar with the night sky—until I saw a completely unfamiliar night sky.
Sagittarius rules our encounters with the unfamiliar. Some of them take us as far away as the other side of the world, where the sky is upside down. But simply traveling to an unfamiliar part of your own city can do the trick. Whenever you find yourself feeling a little under the weather, like the proverbial fish out of water, then you’re doing something right Sagittarius. Whatever makes you see the world, or even just your own life, with new eyes and wonder – this is Sagittarius territory. In a week when the skies are as busy as this one, Sextile between the Sun and Pluto (November 23, 2025 at 11:19 AM PST) may seem trivial. But the connection between the Sun and Pluto has never been unimportant.
The two met in early Aquarius on January 21, 2025, starting a new cycle. When these two important symbols come together, there is tremendous pressure to change our current form. Often, this pressure comes from those who have power over us, such as bosses, parents, or even government officials.
But in the opening six points, we’ve moved away from a power struggle. We can begin to see the choices available to us—although whether we are willing to accept them, or whether they will take us where we want to go, is another question.
