Soap Opera Sermon – Big Sky Astrology

the church within you
What do you believe? What is your credo, what is your deepest belief? Where do they come from—your parents, the religious traditions you grew up in, the books you read?
Jupiter is a planet that awakens questions about how the world works. This week, as Jupiter enters 4-month retrograde period (November 11, 2025 at 8:41 a.m. PST through March 10, 2026) The answers to these questions must be found within. Think of it like attending your inner church.
When Jupiter goes direct, we go to church, learn from the masters, and take classes to help us ask better questions about life and answer what comes after. But for the precious third of the year, when Jupiter is retrograde, it’s important to focus on the beliefs that naturally arise from within you. Of all the things you believe, which ones were given to you by others, and which ones came from your own sense of truth?

soap opera sermon
A long time ago, at my first job, a timid co-worker was bullied by several other employees. One day I finally had enough and I stood up and read them the Riot Act. Oh, the clean, passionate impulse to self-righteousness, to wield the sword of moral indignation! But my approach didn’t win me or the colleagues I supported many friends. Blame it on my Sagittarius rising, Mars rising and Mercury in the 9th house!
Again, this is about Mercury and Mars conjunct in Sagittarius (November 12, 2025 at 3:15 pm PST): Feeling Good – Okay yes That’s fine—stand up for what you believe in, jump on the pulpit, and deliver a sermon that comes from the heart. But it doesn’t always have the desired effect…unless your desire is to annoy people.
Mercury is in detriment in Sagittarius. It doesn’t have Mercury’s curiosity – mostly it has faith. With Mercury mixed in with some retrograde misunderstandings and tangled up with hot-headed Mars, you’re just a few words away from a holy war or full-blown crusade. This week, choose these words carefully.

luck
Why do some people seem so lucky? I don’t really believe in fate, but I do believe in luck. How else to explain those who seem to have the miraculous ability to reverse bad luck and attract wealth and support? Then again, I suspect that a lot of seemingly lucky things may come most easily to those who have a tolerant, optimistic attitude.
Astrologers associate Jupiter with luck, and certainly there seems to be an element of good fortune in the lives of those who have Jupiter or one of its signs (Sagittarius and Pisces) that are prominent in their birth charts. This week, we have a chance to test Jupiter’s luck because Sun in Scorpio trine Jupiter in Cancer (November 16, 2025, 9:08 PM PST, 25°06 Scorpio and Cancer).
See if you can catch Jupiter as it passes by. Those with the strongest determination and confidence may do best, but everyone can reap this cosmic windfall—just look to the Sun-ruled Leo house of your chart for some happy solar fallout. If your birthday is this week, you might be expecting a little something extra in your cosmic birthday gift.
