Sun conjunct Venus and Mars – all is fair in love and war

Behind the scenes, something important is resetting.
between January 7-9, 2026we have a rare triple conjunction between Sun, Venus and Mars In the middle of Capricornus.
First, on January 7, the Sun and Venus conjunct at 16° Capricorn. This is the turning point in the synodic cycle of Venus, where Venus transitions from morning star to evening star.
The next day, Venus catches up with Mars and makes an exact conjunction at 18° Capricorn. On January 9, the Sun and Mars conjunct at 19° Capricorn, starting a new two-year Mars cycle.
The geometry of this configuration is spectacular. We can’t see anything in the sky because Venus and Mars are too close to the sun and therefore “invisible” – but there are some serious Game of Thrones -esque twists happening behind the scenes.
What appears to be a celestial agreement – the Sun, Venus and Mars aligning – is actually much more complicateda new beginning and an end happen simultaneously.
Let’s unpack this.
We’ll start with Venus
when Sun conjunct Venus And since Venus is direct (as it is now), we have what is called an “advanced” Venus conjunction.
This is the “full moon” – or better said, “full venus” – Phases of the 584-day cycle of Venus: a culmination or turning point where our values and relationships reach their peak and then mature into a new phase.
Basically, Venus reaches a climax in her story. After wandering morning skydoing her own thing, Venus is now connected to the Sun (our life purpose) and consciously align with it – “Let’s cut the crap – this is what I really want”.
This has less to do with external events and more to do with Venus Do something decisive internally.
When Venus conjunct the Sun, something “clicks”: Because of this “click,” we rearrange priorities, rewrite relationship contracts, and redefine what is worthwhile and what is not.
What about Mars?
Mars Cycles Are About How We Go After What We Want. Mars cycles are important because they describe what we actually do in the real world.
When Mars reunites with the Sun, our instincts reset and we feel motivated to start over with a new set of goals.
one Sun-Mars Conjunction Marks the beginning of a new hero or heroine’s journey – a moment of starting over and make new commitments.
Sun, Venus and Mars
What is particularly interesting is that the cycles of Venus and Mars now overlap, creating a Sun-Venus-Mars triple conjunction.
This triple combination is not accidental but part of a pattern.
The conjunctions of Venus and Mars form a broader 32-year rhythm; each conjunction belongs to a “series” – at the midpoint of each series, there is a Venus-Mars-Sun conjunction.
The new series begins with a Venus-led approach – she “calls the shots” – and the entire cycle is essentially rooted in the Venusian values and desires stirred within us.
So the Sun-Venus-Mars conjunction is midpoint checkpoint In the Venus-Mars story, the relationship between desire (Venus) and action (Mars) is recoded through the Sun.
What appears to be a celestial agreement – the Sun, Venus and Mars align – is actually a high-stakes behind-the-scenes rewrite.
Venus is at a turning point in her cycle (values/desires reorientation). Mars is at the beginning of its cycle (will and action reset). Venus and Mars meet (lovers and warriors renegotiate terms).
It all unfolds under the sun (Identity and purpose become arbiters).
The sun is our identity and purpose in life, so this checkpoint is a reality check – Clarify how our needs and desires need to be adjusted If they become inconsistent, unrealistic, or disconnected from our deeper goals.
Through this realignment, Mars takes the lead, translating revised values into action and taking the necessary steps to make these realigned goals and desires a reality.
The conjunction between Venus and Mars is very important because Venus represents the feminine, the yin principle, while Mars represents the masculine, the yang principle.
When the two meet, creation becomes possible. Through this “chemical” reaction, something is formed that did not exist before.
Sun conjunct Venus and Mars in Capricorn
The Sun-Venus-Mars conjunction occurs on Capricorn. Capricorn is part of the zodiac Where rubber meets road: Goals, systems, deep commitment, contracts, status, and long-term consequences.
When the Sun, Venus, and Mars meet in Capricorn, we become more driven and driven to clarify our personal needs and desires and find ways to manifest them in the real world. This is when our motivation and sense of accomplishment are at an all-time high.
At the same time, this is a conjunction and we may not be able to see the results externally yet. But don’t worry, what’s happening now is when Mars opposes the Sun next year. It will show up eventually.
This is part of a larger pattern.
Back in February 2022, we had a Venus-Mars conjunction 16° Capricorn.
Although Venus and Mars meet approximately every 32 months, new The conjunction of Venus and Mars in a specific zodiac sign begins approximately every 32 years.
The 2022 Venus-Mars conjunction in Capricorn marks New Capricorn Seriesthe January 2026 Sun-Venus-Mars conjunction is a time to illuminate and realign what was sown at that time.
Can you recall what happened in your life? 2022when does this new 32-year Venus-Mars cycle in Capricorn begin?
The current Venus-Mars-Sun conjunction is Continuation and activation of that theme.
The Psychology of Venus and Mars
Venus and Mars are “relationship” planetsit is no exaggeration to say that from the perspective of Earth, they are our closest planetary neighbors. Venus is in front of Earth and Mars is behind Earth.
First, Venus tells us (Earth) what is important—what we value, desire, and are attracted to—and then we act accordingly (Mars) internal assessment.
when Venus and Mars Activate together, we operate at the same time desire (Venus: attraction, worth, wanting) and will (Mars: drive, pursuit, action).
Venus + Mars is the “Veni.Vidi.Vici” part of the psyche which says: “I want this. I’m going to chase it. I will get it.
It is pre-rational and pre-moral. Venus and Mars describe what is important to us primitive, instinctive, survival instinct level – a purpose or meaning beyond the conscious definition of the Sun, the King of our solar system.
Venus and Mars are not about logic; let us keep moving forwardwhat feels right, rather than what sound Correct.
Is all fair in love and war?
“All is fair in love and war” It is a well-known expression with roots in classical thought and Roman rhetoric.
This sentence basically describes what people donot necessarily them should Take action when the stakes are high and the outcome is more important than procedure or etiquette.
used uncritically, “All is fair in love and war” can be a Just cause for harm: Betrayal, manipulation, or cruelty disguised as necessary.
“All is fair in love and war” does not have a negative connotation by default. It simply describes moments in the part of our psyche that defy logic— Venus and Mars – takes center stage.
and whether this will lead to constructive or destructive consequences It all depends on how sane, healthy and honest our personal relationship with Venus and Mars is.
This is similar to alcohol. We can “blame” our passion or anger to justify our actions – but they only reveal our inner state, what we really want, and what we really want to do.
We can say “alcohol made me do it” to justify bad behavior or a situation that wouldn’t have happened otherwise, but in reality, alcohol doesn’t create anything new – it just removes suppression and filtering.
Some people become funnier or more generous after a few drinks; others become harsher or more aggressive.
More alcohol makes us relax Mercury (perception) and Jupiter (moral compass) function, the rest is Venus and Mars – Our desires and motivations.
Again, this is not to say There are some fundamental errors With our Venus and Mars.
As Shakespeare said: “The fault, Brutus, is not in the stars, but in ourselves.”
Sometimes the involvement of Venus and Mars is just what we need.
In a world of “what do others think of me?” or an overly analytical, mindset-driven reality, it’s best to let Venus and Mars take center stage. sometimes we need That fire under our bellies.
Anything that makes us angry, driven, aroused, or compelled does so for a reason. There are some basic things it wants to be lived and realizedit is through Venus and Mars – our needs and desires – that we Visit and activate That latent potential.
Psychologically, love (Venus) and war (Mars) activate our primitive systems: threat, desire, fear of loss, fight or flight. In this case, our ego loosens its usual restraints—and that’s not always a bad thing!
Sun conjunct Venus and Mars – all is fair in love and war
Sometimes the heart and instinct know better than the head. Reconnecting with our primal drive is just the reset we need when life feels dull, alienating, or not our own.
Sometimes, indeed, all is fair in love and war – Or better said, there is truth in extreme situations or strong feelings or drives that would otherwise be suppressed or blocked by our inner critic.
The phrase “all is fair” doesn’t really mean that everything is fair – it means that when impulses are allowed to be directed, anything becomes possible.
it describes when Venus-Mars rules, Mercury and Jupiter step backwhen the mind prioritizes action over rationalization, immediacy over legitimacy.
All these feelings and instinct-based drives can become reckless. This is where Capricorn energy comes in – asking not just what feels necessary in the moment, but what will be sustainable over time.
Will we still be proud of “what Venus and Mars make us do?” 10 or 20 years from now? Will it impress our children and grandchildren, or will it become another shameful, buried secret passed down in the family?
For all of us, the Sun-Venus-Mars conjunction requires that we Adjust our life goals (Sun) with our hearts and our actions. this is a moment clarify what what really matters to us – Despite “shoulds,” narratives, conditioning, or inherited rules and expectations.
We may think with our heads, but we “know” with our hearts. Our desires are real, real, and active When we allow ourselves to listen to their voices:
- What do I want? (Venus)
- What am I willing to do to get it? (Mars)
- How does this align with my life goals? Will I show up, yes or no? (sun)
in other words: What is important enough to move me? What risks am I willing to take? When desire, will, and purpose align, something real can be built. Now, everything else is noise.
