Have a Happy Sagi Little New Moon – Anne Oatley Astrology

Dear friends,

There is a New Moon on Friday and a New Moon Manifestation Circle webinar will be held on Saturday evening. Normally I try to take classes before astronomy events, but today I’m fighting a cold and the next few nights are going to be busy. So, Saturday! Please click here to learn more and register.

The Sun and Moon are scheduled to meet at 28 degrees Sagittarius in the zodiac on Friday, December 19 at 8:43 pm ET. There they are closely conjunct Venus (24 Sagittarius), Juno (26 Sagittarius) and Mars in his exalted sign (3 Capricorn). Additionally, there is a fifth planet in this Sagittarius cluster – Mercury at 10 Sadge, not close enough to conjunct the new moon, but still injecting joyful energy into the process.

All the Saddle planets, as well as Neptune, Saturn, and the North Node in Pisces, are responding to Jupiter’s retrograde in Cancer, his sign of exuberance. Jupiter is in the twelfth house of Washington, D.C.’s chart, bringing a tender, nostalgic, bittersweet flavor to our holiday celebrations.

With so many planets in the final degrees of their signs (Uranus in Taurus, Neptune and Saturn in Pisces, the Sun and Moon in Sagittarius), there is an emphasis on endings and beginnings. Change is stressful for most of us: but are you likely to have some fun doing it? The universe wants to teach us how to live in the present moment, after all it is all we have. This is your life and this is the wonderful person you are growing into.

Listen to your inner wisdom. The stars in Sagittarius are also conjunct the Galactic Center, a gateway for psychic downloads. If it feels good, take a chance and say “yes” as soon as possible! We may have some wrinkles to iron out after Jupiter goes direct in the spring. Nonetheless, now is a great time to meet a partner who will surprise and inspire you.

There is a sense of tension in the chart as the Sun, Moon, Juno, Venus and Mars square Saturn and Neptune in Pisces and Ceres in Aries. Clear action is needed to address it. Light a candle, take a deep breath, and jump!

If you would like to learn more about this week’s New Moon in Sagittarius, I invite you to join my next webinar on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 7:30 PM ET.

Big hug,

Anne

PS: I have released two new free videos on YouTube that are the result of collaboration with fellow astrologers. We posted a recording of a talk I gave to the New York Astrology Meetup group (run by Danny Larkin) about Zohran Mamdani, which I also recently did a preview of a year ago with rising star Dabney Lawless. Check it out!

PPS We’ve also just opened registration for my “Setting 2026 Intentions” webinar, which will provide a month-by-month in-depth look at next year’s energy, taking place on Monday, December 29th at 7:30 PM ET.

PPPS Have you signed up for my Patreon Star Cup? For only $17 a month you can get daily astro updates from me and chat with awesome people in the comments!
