Placidus and the entire sign room – how do they work? –

Houses are one of the most important and controversial topics in astrology.

These 12 signs are very simple – each sign is 30°. Houses, few.

There is no one house system; there are several. By highlighting another “flavor” of the chart, they all “work” in their own different ways.

Some housing systems seem to work better with certain technologies such as Transits. Others are better suited to specific explanations. It’s really about understanding what the value proposition of each system is – and then using it with consciousness.

House Systems: Placidus and Whole Sign Houses

From dozens of existing housing systems, Placidus and the entire sign house It is the most popular. The most popular ones are the most different.

If we find similarities between certain housing systems (e.g., Placidus and Porphyry, or the entire sign and the same house) – Placidus and the entire sign house are completely different.

Perhaps it is their methodological differences that make them the most discussed housing system in contemporary astrology.

More than any other topic in astrology, there are some stubborn full-sign advocates and loyal Placidus users. There is a “Placidus Team” or a “Enterprise Logo Company Team”.

Two – How does such a different house system “work”? There must be one that is correct, right?

At Astro Butterfly School, we don’t think anyone has the “right” housing system. Both house systems work – But in your own unique way.

This means that the types of astrological insights you can get with one house system may be different from the types that you get with another system.

To understand what makes them unique (but also suitable for different applications), let’s talk about the theory behind everyone:

Astrology was born before the house, which is a recent development. Astrology has long been observant – note that this day may involve tracking solar eclipses or spiral elevations of planets. Then conceptualize 12 signs.

Houses and birth charts are later additions that require not only astrology to be applied to kings and countries, but also to ordinary people.

We have the same number of signs and houses with The inner conceptual connection between the two. The house (conceptually) originates from the logo. That’s why we have 12 houses – not 24, 35 or any other random number.

The first obvious house system to be used is the whole symbolic house – in which the same principle of using 12 signs is applied to the birth chart, thus there are 12 houses.

Throughout the sign house, the same theoretical framework that produces the twelve zodiac signs is applied to the house. In this system, each sign contains the entire house. For example, if your ascension is in Gemini, your first house is entirely Gemini, your second house is entirely cancer, and so on.

From the perspective of the entire sign room, it is important to Which logo Your house in – logo itself become house.

Later, a new housing system was developed. Equal houses are similar to the entire sign (each sign), but they start with the degree of rise. So if your ascent is 5° Gemini, then your second house starts with 5° cancer, and so on.

The difference here is that rising is no longer synonymous with the cutting edge of the first house. If the planet is above the horizon in the chart – even in the same sign (e.g., Gemini 2°) – equal houses will enter the 12th house.

Later, intermediate (MC) and IC are included in the housing calculations. This is the emergence of so-called “quadrant” housing systems (such as Placidus). Since the MC and IC are not necessarily 90° from the ascending drive shaft (unless you are on the equator), the quadrant housing system (or equal to the whole sign) creates unequal homes.

there are many Quadrant housing system In use (they differ in the way the space is allocated between angles), but The most popular is Placidus.

Placidus is the most widely used house system, mainly because most astrology software uses it as the default setting. If you get the chart online or from an astrologer and are not sure which house system it is based on – very likely Placidus.

The particularity of Placidus and other quadrant housing systems is that they become important anchors in the charts in the middle. What is in the middle? Fundamentally, the expression of the earth’s tilt and our geographical latitude.

Different latitudes (and times of year) may tilt Mid Heaven to the right or left, thus providing us with unequal homes. We can say With Placidus, location matters.

Placidus vs. The entire sign room

The entire sign room reflect Built-in design Map of the solar system to your birth chart.

Placidus all Position, position, position.

And this difference is why it helps determine which system is best suited to which one.

The entire logo house is a reflection of 12 basic prototypes. So a house can only contain 1 sign – not a premise of 2 or 3 (where the horizon disappears if you are on the pole).

So, with the whole sign room, Gemini ascends, your second house is cancer. There is no Gemini at all, it is a little cancerous. There is no cancer, a little Leo. This approach creates coherence in graphical interpretation.

Using Placidus, the limit of the sky – literally, if we consider the method used to calculate it (from the observer’s point of view, the middle representation represents the highest point in the sky). This shows that Placidus is more land-based – on Earth, time and the actual position of observers on Earth are more rooted.

With the whole sign, 12 houses based on 12 signs are rooted in the cycle of the solar system, so we can say The entire sign has a more “noted” expression centered on the sun.

Placidus, by contrast, is more related to the unique situation of the planet and individuals. This is a concrete expression of the influence of celestial bodies on Earth.

Many people agree more about Placidus because it feels more personal and more suitable for time and place – just like the imprint of the sky tailored when you were born.

Placidus tends to be more “obvious” because it shows a more relevant way in a way that appears from a ground perspective – but it may not explain the “DNA” and basic effects of the birth chart, and explain it in the same way.

Placidus and the entire sign house

Is the entire logo and Placidus effective? Absolutely. It’s really about understanding the difference between the two – what makes them unique and in which case we can choose another one.

In the explanation, the whole sign is good in terms of large themes, consistent areas of life and transitions. Placidus is nuanced and tends to show how we actually experience the house – how the “DNA” that marks the house as a whole manifests itself in the land realm.

As we have seen, different housing systems can emphasize certain aspects of the chart in different ways. Some systems may better align with your interpretive style, while others may work better in specific technologies.

Some astrologers use only one house system – which works well for them. The most likely explanations are also tailored to the unique functions of that particular system.

Others use primarily a house system (e.g., Placidus) but turn to specific technologies throughout the landmark house (e.g., Journal of the Year).

Then some people use both systems in the same reading – usually with extensive experience working alone and manage to get the best of both.
